The Internet is definitely going mobile as the impressive figures of the recent Mobile World Congress of Barcelona reveal: more than 1.700 companies, 3.400 journalists and, on the whole, over 72.000 attendees from 200 different countries.
FI-WARE, in its role of leader of the creation of a Future Internet services ecosystem in Europe, set up an exhibition booth together with the other FI-PPP projects and organized a workshop within the parallel event on Thursday 25th and Friday 28th .
During the exhibition at the MWC, several FI-PPP use-case projects demonstrated and explained to experts and interested people how FI services are to transform existing sectors such as logistics, safety, smartcities, agriculture, e-health and e-content industry. In our case, FI-WARE showed how to materialize such ideas in a faster, easier and cost-effective way with its proposal of Future Internet core-platform of generic enablers.
We did not only provide information and get the pulse of experts on our architecture and implementations but we’ve got proposals for collaboration on specific technologies and exploitation areas. Additionally, some datacenters appeared to be interested on the concept of FI-WARE instances to enrich their service portfolio.
The two-day FI-PPP event hosted at the Fira of Barcelona meant a continuation of the exhibitions and the realization of workshops for potential collaborators and adopters.
Finally, we would like to thank Ana García (ENoLL, Concorde) for her efficient and proactive support and the logistic coordination within the FI-PPP.
