In a recent report by the European Commission, titled “Breaking the Mould: A New Model for EU Innovation Programmes”, the FIWARE ecosystem of technology, developers, companies and funding organizations has received positive marks in a number of key areas.
Among them, the stated goal to develop innovative open source technology components resulted in FIWARE-based software tools that help to facilitate the connection to IoT, the processing of real-time contextual information on a large-scale and the development of cutting-edge, smart applications for many sectors.
The report also highlights the worldwide reference deployments of FIWARE-based solutions and the adoption of the FIWARE platform as de facto standard within important industry forums.
