FIWARE Foundation will be in Barcelona this week (29-31 October) for IoT Solutions World Congress, where it will be speaking and exhibiting as a Silver Partner.
This edition, FIWARE Foundation is part of one of the ten selected testbeds to be presented at the event. In collaboration with main partners International Data Spaces Association, Innovalia Metrology, prostep ivip association, and PROSTEP, Inc., as well as EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne), Capvidia, Georg Fischer, 3D MicroPrint GmbH, Airbus, Daimler EvoBus GmbH, NXP and Fraunhofer FHR, we have contributed to the creation of a testbed that demonstrates how IDSA and FIWARE open-source technology as well as SAMPL secure 3D printing technology can be used for providing a seamless and controlled exchange of data across digital twins based on open international standards; allowing companies to dramatically improve cost, quality, timeliness, and business results through enhanced traceability, process workflow automation and improved product and manufacturing process knowledge.

FIWARE on Stage at #IOTSWC19
FIWARE Foundation CEO Ulrich Ahle will be taking the stage on Wednesday 30 October, 14:40h – 15:25h in Room 3 alongside Óscar Lázaro (Managing Director, Innovalia Association) to present ‘Zero Defect Manufacturing Using Open Source Technology’.
Digital Twin is a concept which develop in Product Engineering and is now more and more used also in other areas of the product lifecycle like in production or during operation of a product. Today this different digital twin are often created as silos with limited possibility to exchange data. The presentation will show how to solve this challenges and how integrated digital twins along the whole product lifecycle can be realized. The solution is based on the architecture of the International Data Spaces Association using the open source technology of FIWARE providing predictive maintenance services while ensuring data sovereignty. It will be explained how the Overall Equipment Efficiency is improved while at the same time the data sovereignty is increased.
