Every year, Hannover Messe, the leading knowledge and networking platform for the manufacturing, energy and logistics industries, attracts thousands of market drivers, top speakers and partners to bring them together and discuss a wide range of relevant topics and present the latest news trends in the industry. From AI and robotics to automation technology, logistics IT and industrial software to batteries and fuel cells. Under the guiding theme “Industrial Transformation”, industry thought leaders presented their technologies and ideas for the factories, energy systems and supply chains of the future.
This year, AI Marketplace became a significant part of Hannover Messe to show the professional market their platform for artificial intelligence in engineering. AI Marketplace was presented on FIWARE and IDSA as well as on OstWestfalenLippe (it’s OWL) joint booths, where hundreds of industry experts and representatives of Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Members of the German Bundestag as well as international delegations from Finland, Canada, Korea, Malaysia, Sweden and Singapore visited AI Marketplace experts and looked for prospective cooperation opportunities with the platform.
It was very important to be present at Hannover Messe. As the AI Marketplace is targeted at manufacturing companies, we were sure that we would find our target groups here. For us, this presentation was a great opportunity to meet potential customers and users of the platform, get encouraging feedback, inputs and ideas on how to develop it further. Thanks to Hannover Messe we had an incredible opportunity to show our platform here for the first time

Using The Smart World by FIWARE by Lego ® demonstrator AI Marketplace showcased exactly the matching process between AI solution providers and users. It clearly and tangibly demonstrated to the visitors a concrete use case of how artificial intelligence supports the development of new products by identifying like and similar and similar parts at CLAAS — the AI Marketplace partner.
One of the Smart World by FIWARE modules presented a marketplace where there are different players of different stands offering various solutions as it could be at the actual marketplace in the city center. Through this module AI Marketplace shows the interaction between different players on the marketplace which is a symbol for the AI Marketplace platform. The other module shows an engineer sitting at a Lego table designing a new product. He can take the geometric features of the path that he wants to use in the design process or scan the dataspace paths that are shown on the ipad. Besides, the engineer can scan the database for similar paths that can be reused in the design process, thus, this process can be much faster and more efficient. Both these Smart World modules represent how AI Marketplace symbolizes the intelligent matching of its platform.
Smart World by FIWARE demonstrator is a very enticing and attractive touchpoint that increases the interest of participants of the fair and motivates them to stop and communicate about the platform more. Via Smart World by FIWARE we could show the bigger picture of the AI Marketplace platform, and since the project was recently reset, it was a great format of getting feedback for our idea to develop the project further. Moreover, it was a huge success to collaborate with FIWARE to bring awareness to the marketplace. We are looking forward to being a part of Hannover Messe fair next year.
