Sensative, a leading provider of innovative IoT solutions, has been awarded the contract to provide its IoT platform, Yggio, based on FIWARE Open Source solutions, across the Västra Götaland region.

This award will enable the 47 cities of the region and its 86 additional participating organizations to utilize Sensative’s platform for a broad range of smart city, digitalization, and data-sharing applications. 47 cities, 30 real estate companies, 22 energy companies, 3 water operators and more will benefit from the provided services.

Following a competitive tender process, Sensative was selected to provide the most advantageous solution for the region. Yggio will serve as a region-wide, horizontal platform for IoT, digital transformation, and data sharing. The platform will be delivered as a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution, along with consulting services, to ensure Västra Götaland has the best possible foundation for digitalizing, automating, analyzing, and creating a data-driven operation. The implementation of Sensative’s Yggio FIWARE-compliant platform will empower the involved organizations to collect, analyze, and act on data in real-time, improving service delivery and the quality of life for our citizens.

• Environmental Monitoring: Yggio may enable monitoring of air and water quality, detection of forest fires, and soil condition tracking for agriculture, helping to enhance environmental safety and sustainability.
• Asset Tracking: Yggio can be leveraged for real-time asset tracking in environments such as airports, hospitals, and workplaces. This functionality allows organizations to monitor and manage equipment, vehicles, and other critical assets, ensuring better resource allocation, reducing losses, and improving operational efficiency.
• Public Safety and Emergency Response: The platform has the potential to support public safety initiatives, including crime prevention, disaster response, and emergency coordination.
