FIWARE is driving the standards for Smart Cities. It does so by helping cities to become truly smart, unleashing the potential of right-time open data and bringing support to development of the Data Economy.
The FIWARE Global Summit in Porto on May 8th and 9th will be the perfect place for cities and public authorities, as well as innovators and thought leaders, to get access to state-of-the-art service providers, share best-case-practices with one another, and get up-to-date insights about the upcoming global Open Data Standard and its relevance in terms of increasing the quality of urban life and public well-being.

- FIWARE is driving the standards for Smart Cities. The dedicated track will cover a wide range of interesting subjects, giving you direct access to the latest advancements regarding Mobility as a Service, Traffic Management, Smart Energy and Smart Buildings.
- Concepts like ‘City as a Platform’ and processes like the conversion of raw city data into deep knowledge to support daily governance will be reviewed in-depth, not only to inspire, but also to present business opportunities.
- Topics to be covered include the adoption of Context Broker technology in CEF, the strategic collaboration with TMForum, the developments by GSMA, standardization activities in ETSI and the connection to other open source platforms like EdgeX Foundry.
- A special part of the Smart Cities agenda, Scaleup4Europe – ‘City as a Market’, will consist of useful sessions focussing on opportunities to increase the collaboration between companies and cities, boosting business connections for companies, and access to new products and services for cities
- Meet Smart City projects from across the globe and connect with city council representatives that are building their public services upon the work of FIWARE-powered companies.
