Berlin, 29 October 2021.
We are excited to be launching the second edition of the FIWARE4Cities booklet. FIWARE is up and running in roughly 250 cities, across 30 countries worldwide. This booklet, which comprises 62 cities and 66 solutions from 18 countries, is a footprint of how FIWARE has been helping cities worldwide to get their smart city projects off the ground.
In this second edition, you will find leading cities from across the globe that have already found the right partner to accompany them on their digital vision. By following and using FIWARE’s open common standards, Smart Data Models, and open source technology, these cities, ranging from Europe to Asia to North to South America, are delivering state-of-the-art smart, digital, sustainable, and effective strategies and public services.
In addition to the insightful forewords from Ulrich Ahle (CEO, FIWARE Foundation), Dario Avallone (Chairman, FIWARE Foundation Board of Directors) and Renato De Castro (Smart city expert and author of “City SmartUp”), as well as voices from global thought-leaders from Europe (Bettina Tratz-Ryan, Research Vice-President, Gartner), East Asia (Kyong-Yul Lee, Secretary-General, WeGO – July 2018 to September 2021), the U.S (Jason Whittet, Digital Innovation Lead Smart Cities, Amazon Web Services) and LATAM (Jaime Ruiz Huescar, Co-Founder, CITIES FORUM) added on edition one, we’ve added some information about some of our programs, initiatives, and smart city associations.
The booklet highlights the need for interoperability and standardization and acts as inspiration for cities and private companies aiming to speed up the digital transformation process. It aims to help cities understand the potential of Open Source technology and open common standards, as well as to help private-sector companies and citizens prepare for the coming wave of change.
Stay tuned for Edition Three to be published during our FIWARE Global Summit January 19-20, 2022. Want to be included in the upcoming edition?
