SmartCitiesWorld, a global media resource for urban leaders and their partners, has launched a new event to help cities tackle climate change. The three-day Cities Climate Action Summit is being held as an in-person and virtual event between 18-20 April 2023.
SmartCitiesWorld is bringing together a cross section of governmental departments and technology providers including IT, Planning, Finance, Environment, Security, Policy and Transport, amongst others, to talk about how towns and cities can use technology to take action against climate change. Keynotes speakers include Mayors, CTO’s and the UN will take to the stage alongside panel discussions with cities and tech companies from across the world. A full list of speakers is available here.
This event will convene over 60 expert speakers from cities from around the world and bring together over 2000 delegates.
FIWARE has a strong partnership with SmartCitiesWorld as an important media partner, and this year, we are proud to be a part of the Cities Climate Action Summit. Ulrich Ahle, CEO FIWARE Foundation participates as one of the key speakers and global experts on Data Spaces in the panel discussion “Access to data and monitoring to drive climate action plans”, 19th April, 15:40-16:30 (BST), London’s County Hall.
Join the panel discussion and learn more about what technology cities are introducing to capture climate-related data, how it is analysed, and the level of insight they can take from it to help shape climate action plans. Besides that, the experts will discuss:
- The role of data sharing across city departments and agencies
- The importance of data governance
- What cities are looking for from technology firms to make further progress.
