FIWARE will be attending and exhibiting at Hannover Messe (April 23-27), the world’s largest trade fair for industrial technology. At the event, it will be partnering up with International Data Space Association (IDSA), which is creating a reference architecture for the Data Economy, to present two use cases.
FIWARE, as an open, sustainable ecosystem aiming to capture the opportunities that will emerge with the new wave of digitalisation, is in favor of a data-driven approach, whereby multiple stakeholders are able to exchange different data sets for various purposes. The aim is to make FIWARE compliant with existing manufacturing reference architectures following a data-driven approach, as well as to extend FIWARE architecture with additional enablers relevant for the Industry sector, in order to implement data-driven Smart Industry-integrated applications.
IDSA is creating a reference architecture to implement secure data exchanges so that data providers keep ownership and control over the uses of their data (“data sovereignty”). It also addresses interoperability with many different data types used in global supply chains, thus playing a key role in driving global standardization forward and achieving digitally networked industry.
FIWARE and IDSA share a common vision: creating a space where data are shared in a decentralised manner, allowing organizations to use these data to improve their processes and monetize data with third parties. IDSA is building a reference architecture to implement secure data exchanges to ensure that data providers keep ownership and control over the uses of their data. FIWARE and IDSA are partnering up to enable the open source implementation of the IDSA Architecture, which will, in turn, help manufacturing companies in their digital transformation. The main component of this reference architecture is the IDS Connector, whereby FIWARE Context Broker technology manages all aspects related to publication and access to data.
