FIWARE Foundation and Fiverr Germany Announce Cooperation

Berlin, September 27, 2019 – FIWARE Foundation is thrilled to welcome on board its newest Community Partner Fiverr. Launched in 2010, the Tel Aviv-based company has taken the world by storm and went on to become a driving force in the online gig economy in less than 10 years.

The idea is pretty simple: In the backdrop of a growing thriving online gig industry, Fiverr offers entrepreneurs a platform to find gigs (short-term projects) that they can execute at the tips of their fingers, from anywhere in the world. When joining Fiverr, entrepreneurs and clients looking for (buying or selling) static websites, WordPress tweaks, material design and so on find each other and engage in projects together. Fiverr takes a 20% cut on the transactions.

With expansion rates going through the roof across the pond, the company has recently landed in Germany and will soon further develop into the European Market. This partnership will be helpful in achieving that. A firm believer in sustainable growth and key collaborations, both companies see many synergies between them towards helping their members and customers to navigate the digital future.

The cornerstone of sustainable and inclusive cities, digital technologies can foster high quality, user-centric digital public services for citizens and continuous cross-border public services for entrepreneurs. In turn, the management of public services can be better handled, boosting accountability, trust and economic development.

FIWARE Foundation and Fiverr could not be more excited about this partnership, which includes, among others, a commitment to the promotion of the FIWARE technologies among Fiverr Germany customers-base and partners. In turn, FIWARE Foundation will equally promote Fiverr services among its growing and international ecosystem.

Above all, both organizations cherish a strong partner ecosystem that creates value for their members. To kick off this partnership with flying colors, Fiverr will join FIWARE Foundation as one of the key partners of its upcoming FIWARE Global Summit which will, for the very first time, take place at the CityCube Berlin, on October 23 and 24.

Co-located with the Smart Country Convention, it will gather renowned speakers from the Smart City, Smart Industry, Smart AgriFood and Smart Energy sector and expects to attract hundreds of city representatives, developers, thought leaders, entrepreneurs, SMEs, large enterprises and investors to get the inside scoop on the trendiest digital solutions, based on recognized Open Source technology.

Housing more than 70 sessions, panels, workshops, and keynotes on disruptive open source technologies, this Summit’s edition brings a novelty: the Smart Cities track will be open to attendees from the Smart Country Convention. The track will host both city mayors and CIOs, who will be sharing the challenges, opportunities and strategies in their digital transformation journey.

The FIWARE Global Summit is the one place where attendees will have a rewarding experience and learn all there is to know about Smart City, open source solutions (to name but a few), with speakers and attendees from Japan, Germany, Spain, Italy, Brazil, Singapore.
