The FIWARE Regions initiative, which is promoted by the FI-LINKS project as part of the FIWARE Mundus initiative, has been closely working with a number of European regions in order to promote the adoption of FIWARE as a mean to efficiently boost and sustain their local innovation ecosystems. The main goal is to support decision makers, i.e. local and regional authorities, innovation agencies, industry clusters, accelerators, incubators, etc. to mobilize their innovation ecosystem (SMEs, start-ups, web entrepreneurs) so as to develop new products, solutions, applications around FIWARE.
Within this context, the FIWARE Regions workshop, which will take place on the 6th November at third edition of the European Conference on the Future Internet, aims to:
- Present to the target audience the FIWARE Regions initiative and the benefits for regions in getting engaged.
- Share the experience gained so far by several European Regions directly involved in the FIWARE Regions context.
- Discuss the way ahead with all relevant stakeholders to pave the way forward and help identifying potential synergies with related initiatives, like Innovation Hubs and Smart Cities.
