From the 4th to the 7th of November 2015 the largest future lab on the entire Internet will be operating in Hamburg. The FIWARE – 3rd European Conference on the Future Internet – or ECFI (www.ecfi.eu) for short – will put the historic Hanseatic city at the centre of European entrepreneurship. After a critical selection process involving over 1,000 financed projects in Europe, the 100 best start-ups with the most impressive prospects for success will be presented over a three day period, accompanied by a programme of events.
The time of lone inventors and founders is over. Success on the net requires networking. Start-ups, companies and institutions, investors and consultants, entrepreneurs and developers – they all rely on each other, as none of them can be successful alone. Not today, and even less so in the future.
With a wide range of workshops and over 1,000 participants from across Europe as well as delegations from the USA, Mexico and Canada – including entrepreneurs and developers, FIWARE officials, venture capitalists, business angels and accelerators – Hamburg will be hosting an incredible community. Of course, the core focus is on the start-ups; however, the ECFI also provides a platform for intensive and constructive discussion and networking, as well as a unique opportunity for investors to meet over 100 of the most exciting European start-ups whose potential has already been established.
This conference is not to be missed by anyone who understands how important a role the web has played in our real lives or who wants to know what cloud computing, big data, the Internet of things, smart cities, urban farming and other future trends will bring to us. Neither should it be missed by anyone who wants to discover the makers of tomorrow or is on the look-out for promising investment opportunities.
